Cancellations and refunds
This website provides information and contact facilities and does not process payments. This page explains how to raise a cancellation, return or refund issue concerning a transaction arranged separately with the business. Entitlement depends on the actual transaction, its agreed terms and applicable law; submitting an enquiry does not create a payment to refund.
1. No charge for browsing or drafting
There is no checkout, card field, paid download or booking payment on this portfolio. Reading a study, selecting a service interest and preparing an email draft do not create a payment to refund. A commission discussed later is a separate arrangement. Before transferring money, confirm the professional, the agreed scope and the payment recipient. Keep written terms and receipts; a contact form preview is not an invoice or evidence that a project has been accepted.
2. Before starting a commission
Agree the editorial level, word count, file condition, delivery date and review process before work begins. A full rewrite or a fresh proof after substantial author changes may differ from the original assignment. Cancellation terms should explain the handling of any reserved time, work already completed and a proposed early start; this portfolio imposes no automatic cancellation fee. For consumer work, check any applicable withdrawal period and consent requirements alongside the proposal. Keep a copy of the accepted scope and payment terms.
3. Describe the editorial concern
Include the manuscript label, agreed version, date, payment reference and whether you seek cancellation, a corrected invoice, further work or repayment. Identify the editorial level agreed and any passage relevant to the concern. Do not attach an entire confidential manuscript where a short description will suffice. Keep invoices and the accepted brief. The local draft does not deliver the request automatically or establish a response time, so verify actual receipt when the matter affects a publication or payment deadline.
4. Part-completed creative work
If editing stops during a project, identify the manuscript version, sections reviewed, queries delivered and any completed style sheet. The amount already done may matter, but entitlement to a charge or refund depends on the actual agreement and applicable law. A half-completed edit should not be represented as a full proof of the manuscript. Ask for the basis of any deduction and the status of delivered files. Neither a universal no-refund rule nor a fixed pro-rata refund formula is created by these general website terms.
5. Scope discrepancies and incorrect billing
An error left within an agreed proof, a passage outside the commissioned word count and a new author revision are different situations. Explain the issue using the actual scope and version delivered. A duplicated charge should be identified against the receipt rather than by sending full payment credentials. The available remedy can depend on the circumstances, contract and consumer law. This notice provides no blanket exclusion for editorial mistakes and no automatic promise that every stylistic disagreement creates a complete refund.
6. Digital files and any agreed repayment
A creative file cannot always be treated in the same way as a returned physical object. Agree delivery, review and any licence conditions for drafts and final work before a commission starts. If cancellation or repayment is agreed or legally required, clarify the amount, payment method, file-use position and processing arrangements in writing. No fixed refund period or blanket nonrefundable deposit is created by this website. Applicable consumer protections and a valid project agreement determine the outcome.
7. Publishers and other providers
A publisher, typesetter, platform or separate editor may charge under its own arrangement. Establish who received the payment and which work it covers before directing a request. A commission through this portfolio does not automatically include print, submission or publishing fees paid to someone else. Keep the relevant acceptance and payment records. Where an editorial concern remains unresolved, state which issue still needs a response and preserve any applicable right to approach a competent consumer authority or dispute-resolution process.
